Scheme History
The aim of the Processing and Marketing Grant scheme was to improve structural deficiencies in the food processing industry and in so doing attempt to guarantee lasting economic benefits to farmers and growers. The competitive schemes included a capital element for assistance towards the construction of buildings and purchase of plant and equipment and a non-capital element which could assist with a range of projects including market research and consultancy, product development, point-of-sale material and attendance at trade fairs.
