It is a requirement of the Animal Health Act 1981, that an annual return be submitted to parliament detailing all expenditure incurred, prosecutions taken and incidences of notifiable disease in imported animals in the previous year.
This statutory return is required to be made and laid before Parliament by 31 March in accordance with Section 80 of the Animal Health Act 1981 and includes data relating to Scotland only. This return is compiled in part from information supplied to the Scottish Government by al Local Authorities in Scotland.
Separate reports are compiled by Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and the Welsh Assembly Government.
