Premises that receive, handle, use, treat or destroy animal by-products must be approved under the Animal By-Products (Enforcement) (Scotland) Regulations 2011 ( APBR).
AHVLA is responsible for the inspection of animal by-products premises that want to be registered or approved. If you have a query regarding approved premises, or need advice on local disposal routes for animal by-products please contact your local AHVLA Divisional Office.
Operators who require an approval under the ABPR should complete the appropriate application form and submit it to their local AHVLA Divisional Office.
