About Road Safety Scotland (RSS)

Road safetyRoad Safety Scotland (RSS) is Scotland's central organisation for road safety education and publicity initiatives.

RSS develops educational resources for use in schools, after school clubs, youth clubs and nurseries.

It also oversees the Children's Traffic Club in Scotland, which offers free road safety training to all three year old children in Scotland.

RSS undertakes publicity campaigns on a range of road safety issues, including -

  • Drink and drug driving
  • Speeding
  • Young driver safety
  • Seat belt wearing
  • Cyclist safety

The Scottish Cycle Training Scheme is also overseen by Road Safety Scotland.
