Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving (SAFED)
SAFED for HGVs

The Scottish Road Haulage Modernisation Fund introduced a training programme which had the aim of demonstrating to industry the operational effectiveness of the SAFED training with a view to it being permanently embedded within the industry in Scotland. In March 2005 Momneta were awarded a 2 year contract to deliver the project.

The attached report is a review of how successful the scheme was in meeting its objectives and overcoming challenges. link

SAFED for Vans

SAFED for vans is a complementary driver development course, consisting of assessment and training. It is intended to improve the safe and fuel efficient driving skills of van drivers. The Scottish Government is funding a small scale SAFED-Vans training project with the intention of establishing a network of instructors across Scotland who can deliver SAFED for Van training on a commercial basis.
