The Scottish Government aims to promote economic growth, social inclusion and sustainable development through a safe, integrated and efficient transport network.
In its first year in office, the Scottish Government has abolished tolls on all road bridges and approved a replacement Forth crossing, choosing the the option of a cable-stayed bridge upstream of the existing bridge.
The new bridge will be the single largest transport project for a generation and cost between £3.25 billion and £4.22 billion.
