Scottish Civic Forum
"Sus it Out"
The Executive has offered the Scottish Civic Forum grants of £40,000 in 2005-06, and £90,000 in the following three financial years, 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09 respectively, with the purpose of building capacity within civic society, increasing awareness in civic society organisations of the contribution they make to sustainable development and of their potential for increasing this contribution.
The outputs will include a tailor made awareness raising tool; training and development modules and activities for use with organisations' annual pledges of activity in support of sustainable development. The project will also support regional events for groups and organisations to share their conclusions, including consideration of an annual 'Future Scotland' conference.
The outcomes are to include a higher profile for and greater awareness of sustainable development amongst civic society organisations and measurable changes in the behaviour of organisations in relation to environmental awareness, economic impact, inclusiveness and participatory government.
