Scottish Neighbourhood Statistics Workshop

Following on from the mornings workshop on Equalities Data, John Fraser gave a live demonstration of Scottish Neighbourhood Statistics.

Because it was a live demonstration there are no presentations to access here.

All participants were given a copy of the Scottish Neighbourhood Statistics Guide.

Feedback from the workshop was very positive. Eight participants answered the following questions on a scale of 1 to 5 where 1="strongly agree" and 5="strongly disagree":

  1. I feel I have increased knowledge and understanding of the range of data that can be accessed through SNS. Mean score: 1.4
  2. I feel better informed about how to use SNS to access data, download data, use standard reports, and create my own geographies. Mean score: 1.3
  3. I feel better informed about what datazones and other standard geographies are and how I can use them. Mean score: 1.5
  4. I feel better informed about the usefulness of metadata provided on SNS. Mean score: 2.1

Comments written on the feedback forms included:

"I never knew this existed: an excellent resource"

"I didn't know about this excellent resource"

"The most useful thing about today has been learning about how to use SNS and all the functions I didn't know about before"
