Exports from Scotland to the rest of the UK(experimental estimates)
The Global Connections Survey requests information from companies in Scotland on sales to customers outside Scotland but within the UK, as well as to overseas customers. The data can be more difficult for companies to provide than international sales information, so estimates are based on less company information than exports to the rest of the world.
The estimates provided here are experimental, in that they are the first analysis of the data and comments and feedback are invited. Please email comments to Catriona.Hayes@scotland.gsi.gov.uk.

The figures show that total sales from Scotland to the rest of the UK were £35.8 billion in 2003, compared with £33.4 billion in 2002 and that the financial sector is the main industry exporting to the rest of the UK - accounting for over 20% of the total.
