Further statistical developments and publications in this area will be made available on the Scottish Government's website.
There are also ongoing developments around the themes of National Identity. Work has already been undertaken to help with the development of the National Identity question for Census 2011.
1) Scotland's New Ethnicity Classification for Scottish Official Statistics and Recommended for Scotland's 2011 Census
2) Cognitive Question Testing Scotland's Census Ethnicity Classification
On Reputation, surveys have been carried out in recent years by the devolved government in Scotland about Scotland's international image. The questions used as part of these surveys, which looked to test knowledge, awareness and perceptions of Scotland's reputation, could help inform the development of data collection for those interested in designing proxy measures at a sub national level about reputation in a specific locality. Examples of surveys about Scotland's reputation are provided below:
1) Sense of Place Questionnaire, 2008
2) Scotland's Profile Questionnaire (China), 2006
3) Scotland's Profile Questionnaire (USA), 2006
4) Scotland's Business Profile (USA), 2006
