Accommodation Occupancy and Visitor Attractions
Information from VisitScotland has shown that up to 2007 accommodation occupancy rates and visitor attraction figures were rising, pointing to strong performance. There was a slight drop in 2008 which may be attributable to the downturn in the UK economy.
Accommodation Occupancy
The generally upward trend in accommodation occupancy since 2002 is shown in the table below:

Visitor Attractions
Visitor attractions in Scotland reported 45 million visits in 2008. This represents a decrease in visits of 4% compared to 2007.
