Tourism, Culture and Sports - Consultation and Planning

Consultation

You are invited to register on the ScotStat user register. The ScotStat register allows users and providers of Scottish Statistics to record their interest in specific topics. The register will then be used to target those interested in a particular statistical area.

TOURISM

The ScotStat Economy Committee considers issues relating to statistics on all aspects of the Scottish economy including the economic impact of tourism.

Tourism statistics are also discussed by the ScotStat Transport and Travel Committee which advise on the needs for statistics about transport and travel.

You may also which to note that the Scottish Government is represented on the Transport and Travel National Statistics Theme Group which addresses issues at a UK level.

CULTURE & SPORT

The main consultation network is ECSnet - the Evidence Network in Culture and Sport (and related Tourism).

Planning

The analytical work plan for Tourism, Culture and Sport was previously included in the Business Plan for the Information and Analytical Services division of the Education Department. However, following restructuring of the Scottish Government, responsibility for Tourism, Culture and Sport has moved to the following directorates:

  • Tourism - Enterprise, Energy and Tourism
  • Culture - Europe, External Affairs and Culture
  • Sport - Public Health and Well Being

This website will be updated when analytical work plans for Tourism, Culture and Sport are available under the new Government structure.
