Scottish Survey of Achievement

The SSA is based on a four-year subject cycle of English language, social subjects, science and mathematics, starting in 2005. The most recently available data shown below are based on the 2008 mathematics survey.

The percentage of pupils estimated to have 'well-established' or better skills at the expected levels for their stages in mathematics based on the 2008 SSA are; P3 - 87 per cent, P7 - 47 per cent and S2 - 30 per cent.

* - expected level for the stage. There is no expected level at P5.

Note: ''Good start' means between 50% and 64%, 'well-established' is 65% to 79%, and 'very good' is 80% or more.
