ScotStat Register

The ScotStat register allows users and providers of Scottish Statistics to record their interest in specific topics. The register will then be used to target those interested in a particular statistical area:

  • To consult on new collections,
  • To seek views on changes to existing collections and
  • To provide notification of new or forthcoming publications.

LIfelong Learning - ScotStat

ScotStat is a network for users and providers of Scottish Official statistics. It aims to improve communication amongst those interested in particular statistics and facilitate the setting up of working groups on specific statistical issues. This page contains information on stakeholder engagement and activity conducted in relation to Lifelong Learning.

How Can I Get Involved?

If you are keen to find out more about work relating to Lifelong Learning Statistics or any other facet of the work of the Scottish Government Statistics Group, you can register with ScotStat to receive updates. More information ScotStat can be found on the ScotStat homepage, including a feedback form and information on the work of the ScotStat Board.

Lifelong Learning - Consultation - ScotStat

ScotStat Committees/Groups

Two consultation groups with data suppliers and data users meet twice a year. Their remit contains an obligation to comment on the scope and content of Scottish Government National Statistics releases. Minutes will be published on the internet. Both groups are chaired by the Scottish Funding Council for Further and Higher Education:

  • the Institutional Group on Statistics (IGS) deals with information relating to Higher Educations Institutions
  • the Statistical Advisory Group for Further Education (SAGE) discusses college information.

Regular meetings are held with local authorities on EMA statistics.

Openness about planning and prioritising is a key requirement of National Statistics and of our commitment to users and providers. The Lifelong Learning statistics plan for 2008-09 is available for comment:
