Adult Literacy and Numeracy
Over the last 7 years the proportion of the working age population with SCQF level 4 qualifications or below has generally been decreasing. In Jul-Sep 2008 the proportion was 13.7% which is 1.6 percentage points lower than the previous year.
The Scottish Government has established a National Indicator to reduce the number of working age people with severe literacy and numeracy problems. Data for this indicator is currently not available. However the number of people with qualifications at SCQF level 4 and below gives a proxy for this information.
