Homelessness data website with the latest statistics and outline of what data is collected

A new homelessness web site has been designed to show the latest homelessness statistics from 1st April 2007 and outline what information we hold for all applicants. Contact details are on the page for any further statistics or information.

HL1 Return: Operation of the Homeless Persons legislation application case return

This is an individual case return used to collect detailed information for each household applying to Scottish local authorities under the Homeless Persons legislation. Information is collected on household characteristics, local authority assessment, and final outcome.

From December 2001, this return became fully electronic and is currently submitted using electronic data capture.

HL2 (quarterly): Operation of the Homeless Persons legislation summary return (up to 31 March 2009)

This form is also used to monitor the implementation of the homelessness legislation. It provides information on the numbers of households in temporary accommodation and monitors the implementation of the Homeless Persons (Unsuitable Accommodation) (Scotland) Order 2004.

Revised HL2 Return (from quarter ending 30 June 2009) Amended in April 2009

With Section 11 of the homelessness etc (Scotland) Act 2003 coming into force on 1st April 2009 we have amended the HL2 to count the number of notifications from social landlords, private landlords and creditors made to local authorities during the quarters. This revised return should be completed from quarter ending 30 June 2009 onwards.
