Consultation on the Questionnaire Content for 2008-2012

The continuous Scottish Health Survey began early in 2008.

The consultation on which questions to be included in the new questionnaire finished in Autumn 2007. A summary of recommendations for the content of the 2008-2012 questionnaire is available here.

During December 2007, some further cuts and changes were made to the questionnaire, since it was running over time. A summary of these final changes is available on request.

We will consider cases for questions to be added, amended or removed in the Scottish Health Survey questionnaire at any time - please click here to download a questionnaire proforma, and download the evaluation criteria. Limited change will be made once a year.

Question testing

Cognitive testing

Some questions from the 2008 Scottish Health Survey were cognitively tested prior to piloting. The report on the cognitive test is available here.

In addition, there was a group discussion on the new COPD questions. A summary of this is available here.

The asthma questions were also tested separately. A summary report is available here.

Piloting

The new questionnaire was piloted in Autumn 2007 and the report is available here.
