Care Homes
Information on Care Homes has been collected by the Scottish Executive since March 2002 by means of a national census, undertaken every six months. The census covers all Care Homes in Scotland which are registered with the Care Commission. These may be private, voluntary or run by Local Authorities.
Prior to this, information on Residential Care Homes was collected by the Scottish Executive while information on Private Nursing Homes was collected by ISD Scotland.
