Description
The quality of Scotland's 11,800km of coastal waters are assessed according to measures of chemical, biological, nutrient and aesthetic quality. The coastal waters of the Outer Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland are not covered. Section 4 of 'Water Quality Classification 2006' reports on changes to coastal water classifications between 1999 and 2006. 'Coastal Classification 1996-2000' gives figures for earlier years.
