Police Strength

As at 30 September 2009 there were 17,217 police officers (full-time equivalent) in Scotland. Police officer numbers have decreased by 61 full-time equivalent (FTE) officers (-0.4%) in the last quarter, from 30 June 2009, but increased by 691 (+4.2%) in the last year, from 30 September 2008.
