High Level Summary of Statistics Trend Last update: Tuesday, October 30, 2012 Domestic Abuse
There were 59,847 incidents of domestic abuse recorded by the police in 2011-12, compared to 55,698 incidents recorded in 2010-11. This equates to an increase of 7%. 54 per cent of incidents recorded in 2011-12 led to the recording of a crime or an offence (32,369) and of these, 77 per cent were reported to the procurator fiscal (24,963).
