Grant Aided Expenditure Web Site

This is the Scottish Governement Grant Aided Expenditure (GAE) web site, its main purpose is to give up to date breakdowns of the latest agreed GAE settlements to inform Local Authority forward planning. Below are the latest GAE service and sub-service allocations by Local Authority for the 2005-08 settlement that were announced in Finance Circular 2/2005.

2005-08 Green Book

The full 2005-08 'Green Book' detailing the 2005-08 base calculations and the 2006/07 and 2007/08 calculations using projected data, is avaiable below. The figures shown in these are as at the Finance Circular 2/2005.

Please note that the 2005/06 GAEs are notional only. These are NOT the actual 2005/06 GAE allocations. These base year notional figures are only used to calculate 2006/07 and 2007/08 GAEs.
Actual 2005/06 GAEs are based on the 2003-06 settlement and will appear in 2003-06 Green Books with subsequent updates appearing in Finance Circulars. These can be found on the 2003-06 Settlement Page.

Note - the following GAE assessments have been amended where the distribution between councils has had to be revisited:

(i) Fire Staff Costs; (ii) Fire Running Costs; (iii) Support of Airports & Harbours etc; (iv) Civil Protection.
