SCOTTISH HOUSEHOLD SURVEY: QUESTIONNAIRE CONSULTATION SHSlogo

The Scottish Executive is reviewing the content of the Scottish Household Survey (SHS) questionnaire, and is currently seeking suggestions for changes to the survey for 2007 and 2008. While it will continue to have a particular focus on topics which are relevant to the work of the Scottish Executive's communities, transport and local government policy areas, the SHS is likely to continue to collect some information on some other topic areas.

We are aware that the SHS is also used by many organisations and research groups outside the Executive. If you would like to contribute suggestions for questions or topics to be considered for inclusion in the SHS from 2007 please, in the first instance, discuss your proposals with the SHS Project Team. It may be possible to add new questions or topics to the SHS, provided there is sufficient need for them. There is, however, considerable pressure for space available in the questionnaire. Therefore new questions can only be added at the expense of existing questions and/or by asking questions/topics only of a sub-sample of respondents and/or in alternate years.

If you would like to contribute to the consultation process, please contact the SHS Project Team no later than Friday 27th January 2006.
