Introduction

The Scottish Government is committed to ensure that people from all ages and all communities across Scotland have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sporting activities, while setting in place both the physical and human infrastructure to deliver sporting opportunities and excellence in Scotland.

The Sports Division policies have undergone a review that ensures they will not adversely affect any group, and there are a number of schemes and initiatives being run to combat any barriers that may be in the path of a person's opportunity to participate in sport.

Information on the Scottish Government's general work on equality can be found on the People and Society - Equality WebPages, while the menu on the left provides information on some Sports Division initiatives designed to help provide sport for all.
