We will check the Options in each of your fields against information you have supplied to us. Each Option is checked within and across schemes, and against the area of land you have declared, to make sure that your application is correct.
Example of an incorrect claim:
A land manager claims for a field which has an eligible area of 14.93 ha:
| Single Application Form Spring Barley (SB) | 14.33 ha |
| Land Managers' Options Retention of Winter Stubbles (RWS) | 14.33 ha |
| Rural Stewardship Scheme Grass Margin (GM) | 00.70 ha |
| Gross Field Area | 14.93 ha |
LMO Retention of Winter Stubbles is not compatible with Grass Margin. Assuming the field has no permanent exclusions such as ponds, the area we can pay for RWS is 14.93 - 0.7 = 14.23 ha. The Spring Barley and Grass Margin are also not compatible. The area we can pay under SAF is 14.93 - 0.7 = 14.23 ha. The Spring Barley and Retention of Winter Stubbles are compatible, so we would pay for 14.23 ha in both cases.
General scheme incompatibilities
All SAF crop codes except 'set aside' are compatible to be claimed under another option on the same area of land. Ponds, trees and forests are the exceptions.
- Ponds are generally incompatible to be claimed under another option for all schemes
- Forestry land is generally incompatible to be claimed under another option for all schemes
What do we do next?
Payments cannot be authorised where there are incompatible Options in your claim.
If we find any Options that are not compatible we will make the adjustments for you. In the example above we would adjust the RWS and the Spring Barley to 14.23 ha. We will also send you a letter informing you of our correction, and you will have 60 days to respond if you think we have adjusted your claim incorrectly.
In some cases penalties will be applied. They will depend on the individual case.
