Forestry and woodlands
We strongly advise you to discuss any woodland planting, tree felling and other significant developments with your landlord and those neighbours who might be directly affected by them.
You should let us know of any discussions that take place and include this with your applications. You can refer to the Forestry Commission publication " How we consult about woodland planting and tree felling" for more information.
All tenants are required to certify that they have the consent of their Landlord. Evidence of this consent will be required at inspection.
Management works on nationally or internationally protected areas
If you want to take up an option on land which may impact upon a nationally or internationally protected area, you must confirm that all appropriate consents have been obtained before you apply to us. These documents must be made available during an inspection. You must also continue to meet the conditions set out in any Conservation or management agreement that you may have with Scottish Natural Heritage.
Tenants informing landlords
If you are a tenant or contractual licensee, you must submit a Landlord Notification Form with your Proposal. You cannot receive final approval from Scottish Ministers for your Proposal without this. See also Land ownership and control.
