Felling Trees

If you wish to carry out felling under RDC- RPs you must get a Felling Licence from Forestry Commission Scotland before starting any work. You do not need to make a separate application, the details we need are on the application form. We will tell you if you need a licence for your proposed felling and if restocking is a requirement.

You will get your Felling Licence with your approved RDC- RP agreement. Please note that after felling you must comply with the restocking conditions of the Licence.

If your proposals affect a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or trees in a Conservation Area, you must advise us of the fact and give details in your application. If you need a Felling Licence to fell trees covered by a TPO, you must apply to us. We will consult with the planning authority before making a decision about the application.
