Section 36 of the
Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 provides that The
Keeper of the Registers of Scotland should set up and
maintain a
Register of Community Interests in Land (RCIL) - this
link will take you to the website held by the Registers of
Scotland. The Act also stipulates the information which
must be contained in the RCIL. The RCIL will reflect
information which Scottish Ministers have instructed RoS to
place on the Register.
The RCIL contains details relating to
registrations of interest under the Community Right to Buy
in Part 2 of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 and the
Tenant's Right to Buy under Part 2 of the Agricultural
Holdings (Scotland) Act 2003.
The Register of Community Interests in
Land website will be available at all times, except while
the site is being updated. Searching the register is free
of charge.
Anyone accessing the RCIL will be able to
see all community body registrations and their current
status. Each registration will have a unique case number,
and these case files can be searched using criteria such as
application number, community body name and county.
PDF attachments showing the relating
documentation for each case will be included within each
case, which can then be viewed and printed if required. A
link is provided on the site for those requiring to
download Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Hard copy extracts from the Register of
Community Interests in Land are available from Registers of
Scotland. A charge will be levied against each extract
requested, priced on a per page basis.
