Land Reform Action Plan

Publication of the Scottish Office's Land Reform Policy Group report 'Recommendations for Action' was a signal step in the development of land reform in Scotland. The report highlighted a range of non-legislative considerations relevant to rural land, as well as making proposals for new Scottish land legislation.

The Land Reform Action Plan (LRAP) was published quarterly between August 1999 and May 2000. It then became a half yearly publication from August 2001. Most of the LRPG recommendation have been achieved.

We are considering the future of any subsequent reports in this series.

The Land Reform Action Plans were divided into the following topics:

Law Reform Legislation

Land Reform Legislation

Legislation on Countryside and Natural Heritage issues

Agricultural Holdings Legislation

Crofting Legislation

Action without Legislation

Issues for further study
