An exact go live date towards the end of 2010 is still to be determined. Scheme membership will be phased in for the existing workforce using a managed process of retrospective checking which will commence one year after go-live and last for a three year period. The Scottish Government will announce the go-live date in advance to allow organisations and groups who work with vulnerable groups adequate time to prepare.
Meantime, implementation activities continue, which include the development of, and consultation on, secondary legislation required to fully implement the PVG Act and a comprehensive package of guidance and training that will be available in the run up to go live.
