PVG SCHEME PROGRESS UPDATE NEWSLETTERS
The purpose of the PVG Scheme Progress Update newsletter is to keep people who work with vulnerable groups up to date with progress and activities relating to implementation of the PVG Scheme and to highlight what groups and organisations can do and consider in preparation for its commencement.
Special Issue - 12 January 2011
In this issue, Adam Ingram, the Minister for Children and Early Years announces that the PVG Scheme is now on track to commence on February 28, 2011.
Issue 6 - October 2010
This issue includes information about and links to additional training materials that have been published, a countdown of activities planned prior to commencement of the PVG Scheme, an article that summarises the benefits of the PVG Scheme Record Update and information from CRBS and Disclosure Scotland to help organisations prepare for 30 November 2010 and beyond.
Special Issue - 29 June 2010
In this issue, Adam Ingram, the Minister for Children and Early Years announces the date the PVG Scheme will commence and publishes a package of training and guidance materials.
Issue 5 - April 2010
In this issue, Adam Ingram the Minister for Children and Early Years, summarises the response to the consultation on the draft secondary legislation required to fully implement the PVG Scheme and the draft guidance. Also included is an update on progress with the IT system that will host the scheme, a guide to the different disclosure types that will be introduced and updates on information events, guidance and training activities.
Issue 4 - January 2010
This issue includes and article on the fees associated with PVG Scheme membership and the long term cost benefits associated with PVG Scheme membership. It also includes articles on automatic listing and police information and updates on communications activities.
Issue 3 - October 2009
In this issue there is an update on guidance and training plans, secondary legislation and an article about the policy direction on regulated work with children and adults.
Issue 2 - March 2009
This issue introduces the new identity for the PVG Scheme and includes updates on the IT system that will host the PVG Scheme and the determinations process for barring decisions. It also includes information on guidance and training, secondary legislation and cross border working.
Issue 1 - September 2008
This issue includes a brief description of the scope of each of the projects that make up the overall implementation programme and highlights recent implementation activities and next steps.
