19. How much will it cost to join the scheme?
The Scottish Government's consultation on policy proposals on secondary legislation which ended on 12 February 2008 discussed possible fee charging regimes but not the fee itself. The fee will be influenced by a number of factors that have yet to be resolved, including the determination process, approach to retrospective checking and IT solution required to support the scheme.
The Scottish Government has published a detailed analysis of the consultation on policy proposals for secondary legislation required to deliver the PVG scheme. Ministers are now considering the detail of the analysis and expect to publish the full response after the Scottish Parliamentary summer recess.
A draft statutory instrument setting out the charging regime and actual fees will be consulted on later this year.
