Child Protection Committees
Local Child Protection Committees provide a forum for
inter-agency working on child protection in every area of
Scotland.
An initial
working
group was established to draft proposals for the future
role and remit of Child Protection Committees. After
consultation with stakeholders, the key requirements for
Child Protection Committees were identified and models
developed.
At the Child Protection summit in March 2004
Ministers unveiled a
model
for Child Protection Committees and an outline of the work
needed to achieve this.
Work on drafting the new guidance was taken on by a new
working
group.
The new guidance was published in February 2005 and is
available
here.
