Developing a suitable workforce to support the framework

The workforce task group is chaired by Val Cox, Deputy Director, Workforce and Capacity Division, Scottish Government, and includes representation from the Scottish Government, local government, the voluntary sector and the NHS. As well as the overarching tasks already identified, this task group is also looking at:

  • Examining the use of key workers, family care workers and pedagogue roles and multi-disciplinary structures in early years services.
  • Improving workforce skills in engaging with children and families, especially those with higher needs.
