The communities task group is chaired by Martin Crewe, Director, Barnardo's Scotland, and includes representation from the Scottish Government, local government, the voluntary sector and the NHS. As well as the overarching tasks already identified, this task group is also looking at:
- Identifying specific measures that would improve the physical and social environment for young children, including arts, culture and creativity and a strategic approach to play.
- Identifying measures to encourage more mutual support between parents and from others in the community, in order to build the capacity of families.
- Increasing the contribution of adult services to supporting families, especially those with young children.
