Scottish Government - Financial Inclusion Event - Edinburgh, 19th June 2008
A Financial Inclusion Seminar was held in the CoSLA Offices, Rosebery House, Edinburgh on 19 June 2008. The event gave delegates the opportunity to view the Financial Inclusion DVD which was showcased at the Financial Inclusion Conference held on the 18 October 2007 in the Marriott Hotel, Glasgow. The DVD summarised the many projects the eleven local authorities were involved in over the last two years.
Frances Wood, Deputy Director Social Inclusion, Scottish Government welcomed everyone to the event.
Guest speakers were Louise Macdonald from Young Scot who shared their Scotland-wide Financial Education work and John Cray from the Department for Work and Pensions who updated the audience on the progress made with Financial Inclusion Champions for Scotland.
Delegates also had the opportunity to attend presentations from representatives of the eleven local authorities benefiting from the Financial Inclusion Fund and to participate in discussions on how to take forward this work and embed good practice in Financial Inclusion throughout Scotland. The seminar was well attended by representatives from Financial Inclusion throughout Scotland.
