There have been important recent developments in community care to help older people remain in the community. Although most older people do not require the services, a large proportion of recipients are older people.
The Community Care and Health (Scotland) Act 2002 is delivering major improvements in community care services. The Executive is committed to supporting carers as key partners in providing care, to help them to care as much or as long as they like.
