Housing which meets people's needs is very important. Government has a number of initiatives aimed at improving homes and keeping warm.

Communities Scotland is the Government's housing and regeneration agency which co-ordinates community regeneration activities.

• Central Heating Programme
  Private sector householders aged 60 or over, who lack central heating, are eligible for free central heating and insulation installation.
• Warm Deal
  Home insulation grants for those aged 60 or over.
• Care and Repair
  Schemes to enable elderly, disabled owner-occupiers and crofters to carry out repairs, improvements and adaptations enabling them to stay in their own homes.
