Paper to Disability Working Group Satellite Groups

RECOMMENDATIONS PROFORMA

Sally Witcher September 2005

At the core group meeting on 9 November it will be necessary to:

  • identify gaps and overlaps in draft recommendations
  • agree a final set of Disability Working Group recommendations
  • agree how they should be presented

To facilitate discussion, both for satellite groups and the next core group meeting, the core group meeting on 15 September agreed that it would be helpful if draft recommendations from satellite groups were presented in a standardised way. It was therefore agreed to develop a proforma for all satellite groups to complete.

Completed proformas (as many as you need) should be e-mailed to Graeme Bryce ( graeme.bryce@scotland.gsi.gov.uk ) by 28 October.

Notes on completion

Please:

a) Number recommendations

b) Identify which area/ theme covered by your satellite group's remit the recommendations relate to

c) Be as specific as you can about who needs to act

d) When thinking through how and when, consider current action which could be built on, and future events already in the pipe-line, as well as additional things that need to be done.

e) Success measures might be targets, or some other way of identifying when/ how well it has been achieved

f) Flag any issues that need to be considered to ensure the inclusion of disabled people with different characteristics (e.g. impairment types, gender, ethnicity, age, location)

g) If you have time, indicate which recommendations are priorities and whether any are obviously straying into areas covered by other satellite groups.

Good luck!
