Consultation and participation by disabled people should be considered here, particularly with reference to voting, being elected as representatives in national and local government and in terms of consultation across a whole range of issues that impact Scottish society. Inclusive consultation across equality groups will have a positive impact upon the process of policy making, as the consideration of and provision for differing viewpoints, experiences and needs should lead, of course to more effective policies that have a substantive equality impact.
