Introduction

Mainstreaming EqualityGovernment Ballot box

The different needs of equality groups in Scotland need to be taken into account when considering questions relevant to this area. Questions particularly about the nature of civic participation and what it means to be consulted and to participate in public life are relevant to all of Scotland's people. However, there are equality issues to take into account if we think about how women, disabled people, people from minority ethnic groups and older people, etc, have particular needs and perspectives that need to be taken into consideration.

See Civic Participation for more information on this topic.

Also included in this section is information on volunteering.
