The equality considerations with reference to education are diverse. Equality and education have been the subject of debate in terms of curriculum, outcomes, experience, access and exclusion for many years.
In higher and further education, a variety of equalities issues exist. Improving ccess to HE and FE by underrepresented groups still needs to be a priority. Financial issues and current debates about fees can impact different students differently. In the actual workforce of HE and FE, women and people of color still have a long way to go to reach equality. These and other issues are important to consider when thinking about how to mainstream equalities into education.
