The Third Sector Resilience Fund, which has the potential to mitigate the twin impacts of recession on some organisations of increased demand for their services and cash flow difficulties, was open for five weeks from late October, and will provide immediate help to third sector organisations. Grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 were available to Third Sector organisations which could demonstrate how the recession had led to increased demand or significantly undermined their services.
Ministers launched the fund in response to the hardship felt by some Third Sector organisations as a result of the global downturn, and in direct response to the roundtable discussion on resilience in the downturn, Ministers held with third sector leaders, COSLA, SOLACE and others earlier this year. The Scottish Government has worked closely with third sector partners in developing the Third Sector Resilience Fund.
