The vast majority of young people in Scotland make a positive contribution to society and are valued and valuable members of their community. We want to build on the great qualities that young people bring to our society through their energy, enthusiasm, creativity, appetite for learning and the huge potential they have for the future.
To achieve this we must ensure that the barriers are removed that prevent too many of our young people from realising their full potential and leading successful and fulfilling lives.
We need to give our young people more choices and chances to capitalise on the many positive opportunities that are available to them and demonstrate that there are better life choices to make than getting involved in crime and antisocial behaviour.
