Purpose of this circular: To convey the Scottish Ministers' approval of the PNB agreement on Acting up, Temporary Promotion and CRTP and Pension arrangements.

Summary of contents: This circular publicises the details of the PNB agreement which came into force on 1st July 2008.

(i) The following paragraphs of the guidance will take effect from the 1st July 2008:-

  • Acting up duties, Temporary Promotion, CRTP and pension arrangements

Paragraph (1) including all bullet points

  • Acting Up (temporary salary)

Paragraphs (2), (3), (5), (9) and (10)

  • Temporary Promotion

Paragraphs (11) and (12)

  • Acting up, temporary promotion and CRTP

Paragraphs (14) and (15) (ii)

The following paragraphs will come into effect from the date the necessary amendments are made to the 2004 Police Regulations and the determinations thereunder and the Police Pensions Regulations 1987 and 2006.
