Purpose of this circular: To convey the Scottish Ministers' approval of the 2008-2010 pay settlement for Chief Police officers.

Summary of contents: This circular authorises the implementation of the PNB 3-year pay settlement entered into by the Staff and Official Sides commencing on 1 September 2008. The award is that Chief Police officer pay scales will increase by:

  • 2.65% effective from 1 September 2008
  • 2.6% effective from 1 September 2009
  • 2.55% effective from 1 September 2010

Details are set out in PNB Circular 08/9, a copy of which is attached. An appropriate determination under the Police Regulations will be issued in due course.
