Community Safety Partnerships

Community Justice - police in community settingCommunity Safety Partnerships (CSPs) are local authority-led partnerships that bring together representatives from the local authority, police service and fire and rescue services. Health, education and other public sector interests are also represented in many partnerships.

CSPs work to reduce anti-social behaviour and fear of crime and to promote safer, more inclusive and healthier communities. They provide a wide range of day-to-day services such as community warden teams, CCTV operations and diversionary activities for young people.

Questions about safety or antisocial behaviour in local communities should be directed to the relevant Community Safety Partnership.

Funding

  • Under the historic concordat agreed between Scottish ministers and COSLA, funding for community safety and antisocial behaviour has been absorbed into the main local government funding since 1 April 2008.
  • Local authorities are responsible for identifying local priorities and allocating funding to meet local needs.
