Summary Justice Reform - Fines Enforcement

Fines Enforcement

The Scottish Court Service (SCS) assumed responsibility for collection and enforcement of fiscal penalties in March 2008. Prior to that date, responsibility lay with the District Courts.

The new regime for enforcing payment of fines - with the deployment of Fines Enforcement Officers - was also introduced in March 2008.

Further information on the new fines enforcement regime, together with information on how to pay a fine, is available at the Scottish Court Service website.
