The emergencies that society face today are becoming more varied and more complex than ever before. Part of the everyday role of emergency response organisations, including the Scottish Government, is to ensure that flexible plans are in place to deal with any disruptive challenges. These flexible plans aim to detect, prevent and, if necessary, to handle and recover from disruptive challenges.
The Scottish Resilience units have robust and well-practiced emergency management arrangements across the country. They work to provide practical support to the frontline agencies that deliver Fire and Rescue Services and emergency planning and response and make a significant contribution to the Government's desired outcome of a more resilient Scotland where the public are, and feel, much safer from danger.
