Vulnerable Witnesses Act (Scotland) 2004 - Phase 3 & 4 Implementation Steering Group - Subordinate Legislation Sub Group
At its meeting on 30 May 2006, the Vulnerable Witnesses (Scotland) Act 2004 Implementation Steering Group agreed that a Subordinate Legislation sub-group be established to address the Steering Group's objective 'to advise on any secondary legislation required to implement the third and fourth phases of the Act to ensure that it is fit for purpose.' This section provides details of membership, remit, papers and minutes of the above group.
Remit
To bring together key parties to assist the Scottish Executive in the preparation of Commencement Orders, Acts of Adjournal and Act of Sederunt required to enable the following provisions of the Vulnerable Witnesses (Scotland) Act 2004 to come into effect:-
- those that relate to child witnesses in sheriff court summary criminal cases, on 1 April 2007;
- those that relate to adult vulnerable witnesses in sheriff court summary cases with effect from 1 April 2008;
- those that relate to child and adult vulnerable witnesses in civil cases in the sheriff court and the Court of Session with effect from 1 November 2007.
